Counseling In Schools is currently seeking an Educational Liaison. The CIS Educational Liaison at PS 47 will serve as an experienced teaching instructor tasked to assist the Community School Director with contract compliance for the academic aspects of the 21st Century CIS After School Program. This is a hybrid part- time hourly position reporting to work during the months of October through June including a combination of remote work and on- site  meetings and trainings.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a standard template for after school instructional lesson plans
  • Review submitted instructional lesson plans weekly 
  • Ensure timely instructor lesson plan submissions via regular outreach to instructors and submission tracking
  • Facilitate professional development training to CIS after school instructional staff (at least 7 trainings to be facilitated per year)
  • Receive support and direction from the CIS Site Director at PS 47


Qualifications:

Required:

  • New York State Teaching License
  • Strong academic and social -emotional framework in working with children and youth from early childhood through elementary school. 
  • Ability to work on a team that intersects with the NYC DOE and Counseling In Schools
  • Over 5 years of teaching experience including lesson plan creation
  • Strong time management skills while multitasking and being flexible

Reports To: Community School Director

Compensation: $45/ hr for approximately 5 hours per week over 30 weeks
