Counseling in Schools, Inc. (CIS) is a non-profit organization that works with New York City schools to promote emotional and social well-being. As the Special Assistant and Data Manager to the Chief Program Officer, you will provide executive-level support to the Chief Program Officer (CPO) of Quality Assurance and Impact. You will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement, practice fidelity, measures of success, and impact. 

The ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented, independent and critical thinker, tech and social media savvy, innovative, creative, and flexible. They should also possess strong data analysis skills and the ability to manage competing demands and create persuasive data charts and reports. In addition, the candidate should be able to manage time, work independently, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and work on organizational and school-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

● Review data using online dashboards and queries and develop reports to monitor data
quality. In doing their work, they will use CIS tools to organize data and provide reports
to management for performance reporting.
● Analyze, and develop detailed or summary reports and data presentations for
management regarding the quality of services. To this end, you will design and research
related materials.
● Manage executive projects and coordinate with external and internal partners. This will
entail communicating with staff, tracking and making approved purchases, and
reconciliation.
● Manage internal trackers, expenditure and reimbursement.
● Manage calendar, staff meeting minutes and agendas, including any follow up on action
items.
● Ensure adherence and compliance with SDQ standards for direct service staff and
strengthen the intersection between all key areas of organizational processes and data
quality.
● Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Core Competencies:
  • The ability to use independent judgment and discretion in performing work duties. A level of specialized knowledge in the field of work with some authority for independent decision-making.
  • In-depth work requirements, such as data gathering, analysis and interpretation.
  • Experience using statistics, qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Interaction with a broad range of individuals.
  • Individual accountability for results.

Job Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in administrative roles.
  • Experience working in a not for profit or public service environment.
  • The qualified candidate must have a bachelor's degree and experience in research, auditing, business, administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of increasingly responsible professional-level experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities requirements listed for the position.
  • Candidate must demonstrate the maturity and ability to balance short-term requirements with long-range plans; works well in a team environment; strong computer and technical skills; strong
  • work ethic; ability to build and sustain relationships, proficiency in customer service; management skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred:
  • Program and project management skills; experienced with data collecting and analyzing trends to improve performance.
